2D Barcode Scanners

Two dimensional scanners utilize area imaging technology with built-in barcode illumination, so they do not contain moving parts. These profitable scanners can read all types, sizes and colors of barcodes, including linear and PDF-417, and are able to read barcodes omni-directionally (at all angles) from any scanning distance. Law enforcement agencies often use 2D scanners to read the PDF-417 barcode on driver's licenses, allowing officers to quickly and efficiently handle traffic stops. Newer 2D scanner models are advantageous at the Point of Sale (POS), due to their omni-directionality and ability to be handheld or mounted in a stationary stand. In the industrial arena, 2D scanners are used on manufacturing lines, in warehouses, and for logistics and asset management.
